The fair is family-friendly, admission-free, and is sponsored by the Tualatin Library, the City of Tualatin and the Tualatin Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), a community of volunteers focused on preparing the citizens, families, neighborhoods, and employees in the Tualatin area for emergency and disaster situations.
The fair offers an opportunity to gather with your neighbors for a day filled with fun and information so both children and adults can learn more about emergency preparedness.
The first 200 attendees will receive a CERT “Be Ready” Go Bag from our Welcome Booth to fill up with goodies from our numerous exhibitors! You could also win one of our fabulous gift baskets that have been graciously donated by local businesses. Make sure to fill out a ticket to enter the prize drawing at the Welcome Booth. (Need not be present to win.) Fair visitors will enjoy more than 25 vendor and exhibitor booths that will help educate about preparedness, have informational handouts, safety items for sale and many will have free giveaways.
Come out for an entertaining day and visit your favorite exhibitors including Mud Bay Pets, GoStayKits, OSU Extension, Tualatin Girl Scouts, Books On Wheels and Quake Up. The City of Tualatin, Washington & Clackamas Counties,Tualatin CIOs, Tualatin and Cedar Hills Neighborhood Ready and the local utilities will all have information booths as well. And there are many, many more.
It’s easy to take a quick break from the Emergency Fair and grab some drinks or snacks from the adjoining Nyberg Rivers Shopping Center, while you check out a variety of Tualatin City and Utility vehicles in the library parking lot that may include: TVF&R fire trucks, police cars and motorcycles, dump trucks and a bulldozer. Stop by and see the CERT Ham & GMRS Radio Team with their solar-powered station and learn about what they do to ensure that the Tualatin Amateur Radio Network will keep lines of communication open in the face of any disaster.
Inside the library, you can peruse the many exhibitor booths in the air-conditioned Community Room or on the patio. There will also be educational videos streaming throughout the day inside the library Fireplace Meeting Room. The Library Maker Space will be offering a free STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) project that visitors can create and take home. The American Red Cross will have a preparedness workshop for kids.
