Budget and Finances


ORS 294 defines the Budget Committee for all local governments.  The Budget Committee consists of the members of the governing body (the 5 City of Durham Councilors) plus an equal number (5) of electors of the City of Durham who are appointed by the City Council.  The appointed members of the Budget Committee serve for terms of three years.  The Budget Committee elects a presiding officer from among its members at its first meeting each year.  The members of the Budget Committee receive no compensation for their services.

The Budget Committee meets on the following dates:

  • April 28, 2026 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
  • May 26, 2026 – (If needed, from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.)
  • June 23, 2026 Budget Adoption (City Council Meeting starting at 7:30 p.m.)
